Nutrition Therapy for Medical Conditions
Proper nutrition is the core of health. My approach to medical nutrition therapies is to integrate functional nutrition with coaching. Functional nutrition addresses the underlying causes of disease and investigates how different systems interact rather than looking at one condition, or system, separately. The focus is optimal function and not just the absence of disease.
Functional nutrition combines the latest medical research, lab interpretations, stress management, whole foods, therapeutic supplements, and medical detoxification. With coaching, you’re in the driver seat and have a role in the discovery and therapy process. You’re empowered and motivated because you believe in the changes you’re about to undertake. You’re fully committed because you want to, not have to.
These are some of the diseases and symptoms I help patients manage (sometimes reverse):
- Digestive conditions: digestive discomfort (gas, bloating, diarrhea, constipation, stomach pain), IBS, celiac disease, non-celiac gluten sensitivity, Crohn’s disease, Ulcerative colitis, FODMAPs diet
- Metabolic syndrome: diabetes/insulin resistance, high cholesterol/triglycerides, high blood pressure, and overweight/obesity
- Thyroid conditions: hypothyroidism, hyperthyroidism, autoimmune Hashimoto’s
- Child nutrition: digestive conditions, failure to thrive, autistic spectrum disorder, hyperactivity/ADHD
“I learned a lot from Nour. My hair seems to be growing back again and my mood swings are gone. I prepare the recipes she sent out to me and not only I, but my friends like them as well.”
